Yuma Regional Medical Center to open Behavioral Health Center

Yuma, Arizona.- The Yuma Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce the opening of YRMC Behavioral Health Center this Monday, February 6.
The decision to open an inpatient behavioral health hospital aligns with the findings of a recent Community Health Needs Assessment (CHA) and addresses a need for additional social and psychiatric services in the Yuma community.

YRMC Behavioral Health Center is located off 32nd Street at 7201 E. 31st Place. In partnership with Horizon Health – a national leader in the behavioral health field – YRMC Behavioral Health Center will feature:

o 24 inpatient care beds (will begin with 12 patients and expand to full capacity within the year)
o Adult (18-64) psychiatric inpatient care
o A sensory room with equipment and features to help patients calm and focus. This specialized sensory room was made possible by generous donations to the Foundation of YRMC.

Initially, YRMC Behavioral Health Center will accept direct admissions from YRMC Emergency Department or YRMC’s medical floors. Yesterday, community members gathered to learn more about the center and the addition of this much-needed service to the Yuma community.
