United States Army to Conduct Training in Arizona

PHOENIX, Arizona.- Members of the U.S. Army will conduct essential military training in designated locations in and around Phoenix, Arizona, September 19-23, 2022. The training will consist of air and ground mobility operations and close-quarter battle training to enhance soldiers’ skills by operating in a realistic environment. Local residents may hear low-flying helicopters, simulated gunfire and controlled explosions during periods of darkness.
Safety precautions are in place to protect participants and residents, along with planning considerations to minimize impact to the community and private property. Local Police Department personnel will be on-site to ensure the safety of both citizens and participants.
We appreciate the support of the leaders, business owners and residents of Peoria, without which we could not conduct this important training. We apologize in advance for any disruption this training may have on the daily operations of the community.
Unique, local terrain provides training opportunities and simulates environments troops may encounter when deployed. This training was coordinated with the appropriate local officials.
“The planning for this training event began months ago,” said Art Miller, Peoria Police AZ Chief. “We have a great relationship with our partners at the U.S. military, and we’re honored to be able to provide support as they conduct this critical training in our city. These exercises keep them prepared to protect our freedoms in the challenging missions they face around the world.”
