Calexico, California. – Officers responded to the downtown area in reference to an altercation between two subjects.
Officers learned a pedestrian was walking through the area and was approached by a bicyclist, armed with a knife.
The bicyclist threatened the pedestrian and chased him throughout the area.
Officers quickly searched the area and located the suspect.
The suspect was taken into custody and was identified as Rafael Hurtado, a 62-year-old transient. Rafael was booked into county jail for brandishing a weapon and criminal threats.
Drug use is suspected to be a contributing factor in this case. #SayNoToDrugs
