YUMA, Arizona.- The 2022 General Election results were close enough in two statewide races to trigger an automatic recount of ballots cast.
Arizona law requires automatic recounts of election contests if the final tally of votes between candidates is less than one-half of one percent of all votes cast in that contest. For the 2022 General Election, two statewide contests, Attorney General and Superintendent of Public Instruction, triggered an automatic recount.
Election officials in Yuma County will start recounting all 46,830 ballots cast in the 2022 General Election after the tabulators pass another logic and accuracy test scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on December 8.
The public may view the re-tabulation of ballots on the County’s Ballot Cam at www.yumacountyaz.gov/ballotcam .
State law does not allow posting of periodic or final recount results by the County. Final recount results will be announced by the Maricopa Superior Court at the hearing scheduled for Thursday, December 22 at 9:00 a.m.
Recount progress will be available at https://azsos.gov/2022-general-elections-recount-progress .
