California resident dies in collision in Yuma

YUMA, Arizona.- On Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at approximately 1:30 PM, the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office responded to a collision of a vehicle involving agricultural equipment in the area of County 4th Street and Avenue 42E. 
 
The initial investigation revealed a white 2012 Ford Mustang was traveling southbound on Avenue 42E, when for unknown reasons, it lost control and collided with a parked agricultural trailer. The passenger of the Mustang sustained critical injuries and was airlifted to a Phoenix area hospital. The driver of the Mustang was pronounced deceased on scene.
 
The driver of the Ford Mustang was identified as Jose Echeveria Cordova, 25, of Salinas, CA. Next of kin notification has been made.
 
This case remains under investigation at this time. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this collision.
